Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London ** (2004, Frankie Muniz, Anthony Anderson, Hannah Spearritt) – Classic Movie Review 5281

In the hasty action adventure comedy sequel to 2003’s hit Agent Cody Banks, Frankie Muniz’s pint-sized spy Cody Banks this time finds himself in the middle of swinging London, rushing round all the usual obvious tourist spots to stop the bad guys.

The comedy is more for Americans than Brits, with rough acting from the actors playing the various silly-ass British stereotypes. Sorry to say that, as the female lead Emily, Hannah Spearritt from the pop group S Club 7, sucks and Anthony Anderson is an irritant as Cody’s wisecracking new handler Derek. As before though, Muniz is a little star who is game for anything, and the action is pretty entertaining. But again also the script (this time by Don Rhymer) is lazy and the direction slack.

Cynthia Stevenson and Daniel Roebuck are back as Mrs and Mr Banks. Director Kevin Allen appears as Diaz. Also in the cast are Anna Chancellor, James Faulkner, David Kelly, Santiago Segura, Connor Widdows, Keith David, Rod Silvers, Jack Stanley, Joshua Brody, Sarah McNicholas, Philip Pedersen, Paul Kaye, Harry Burton, Julian Firth, Martyn Ellis, Damien Hirst, Mark Williams, James Dreyfus and Patti Love.

S Club split in 2003 but the group did a reunion tour of the UK in May 2015 called Bring It All Back 2015.
