Director Barry Levinson’s 2001 thriller is one of his best if now undeservedly least known movies.
Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton star as charismatic crooks who break out of jail and embark on a bank-robbing spree across the American heartlands. Both of them fall for the bored and unhappy housewife (Cate Blanchett) they kidnap.
Willis and Thornton are scalding in this brilliantly pounding thriller that just keeps pumping up the volume all the way. Harley Peyton’s screenplay is admirable.
For some weird reason, there are 14 credited producers! The star’s daughters, Scout LaRue Willis and Tallulah Belle Willis, appear at the dinner sequence.
