Director Douglas Aarniokoski’s 2000 unsubtle, but fast-paced, action-packed sci-fi fantasy adventure thriller brings Christopher Lambert back for his fourth turn as the sword-fighting immortal Connor MacLeod.

This time he is meeting up with his long-lost immortal fellow clansman Duncan MacLeod (Adrian Paul, from the spinoff TV series) to save the world against the might of the incredibly evil immortal Jacob Kell (Bruce Payne).

The producer’s cut runs 101 minutes but the cut original cinema release version runs at only 88 minutes. Filmed at the Castel Film Studios, Bucharest, Romania, but also on location in Scotland (Loch Laich, Loch Linnhe and Castle Stalker, all at Appin, Argyll and Bute) and London (Millennium Dome, Greenwich, and Natural History Museum, South Kensington).

Highlander: The Sorcerer followed in 2007.
