Forties Hollywood leading lady Audrey Long plays Norma Clemson in her final film in 1952, after which she retired at the age of 30, having made around 30 low-budget Westerns and film noir thrillers, including Cornered (1945), Desperate (1947) and Born to Kill (1947).
George Montgomery also stars as US Army Captain Chase McCloud, who finds himself in the middle of a war between the whites and the Apaches in 1885 Arizona, in director Ray Nazarro’s sturdy 1952 Columbia Pictures low-budget Western.
Audrey Long married her second husband in 1952 – Leslie Charteris, the creator of The Saint. They enjoyed a long marriage until his death on 15 April 1993.
Audrey Long died on aged 92.
