Yo-ho-ho! Director Brian Henson’s thoroughly entertaining, delightfully good-humoured 1996 pirate show brings the merriest of mayhem and music with the Muppets.
Jim Hawkins (Kevin Bishop) sets off with a treasure map and the Great Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat on a high-seas quest and meets Squire Telawney (Fozzie Bear), Queen of the Warthogs (Miss Piggy) and mutinous Long John Silver (Tim Curry), who seizes his map and takes him hostage in a rollicking adventure. Can crazy Kermit (as Captain Smollet) help Jim save the crew?
You get all this, plus Billy Connolly as Billy Bones and Jennifer Saunders as Mrs Bluveridge, and the voices of Dave Goelz, Steve Whitmire, Frank Oz and Jerry Nelson.
This is the fifth Muppet movie, followed by Muppets from Space (1999), The Muppets (2011) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014). Preceded by The Muppet Movie (1979), The Great Muppet Caper (1981), The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992).
