Nora *** (2000, Ewan McGregor, Susan Lynch, Peter McDonald, Andrew Scott) – Classic Movie Review 5128

Ewan McGregor stars as Dublin writer James Joyce, who meets Galway hotel maid Nora Barnacle (Susan Lynch) in director Pat Murphy’s well-told, nicely acted and involving R rated 2000 biographical drama of their relationship.

Peter McDonald co-stars as Joyce’s brother Stan, who Nora takes in and Andrew Scott plays Michael Bodkin.

Murphy’s and Gerard Stembridge’s screenplay is based on the biography written by Brenda Maddox.
