The Green Prince ***½ (2014, Mosab Hassan Yousef, Gonen Ben Yitzhak) – Movie Review

The son of a founding leader in the Palestinian organization Hamas, Mosab Hassan Yousef, spills the beans direct to camera about his decade-long life as a spy for the Israeli Shin Bet organisation. His Israeli spy ‘handler’, Gonen Ben Yitzhak, also gives the lowdown from his side.

These two riveting interviews, intercut with various bits of available footage, provide a surprisingly tense and gripping movie experience as directed by documentary film-maker Nadav Schirman.

It will make a great feature film one day, though they’ll have a hard job persuading you it’s actually a true story.
