After The Wedding Singer, Adam Sandler keeps his second movie date with Drew Barrymore with director Peter Segal’s 50 First Dates in 2004 and it’s a new red-letter day.
Sandler plays a Hawaii aquarium vet who meets Barrymore at a diner, and then realises she has short-term memory loss – so next day she’s forgotten him!
Every day after is a first date in this sweet and richly enjoyable rom-com that just falls short on the big gags that would have made it a classic.
Sandler and Barrymore teamed up again for Blended (2014).
