Kate Hudson stars in director Nicole Kassell’s 2011 tearful fantasy comedy drama as sassy, funny Marley Corbett, who likes to play the field. But then she finds that she is dying of cancer. However, there is just time left to fall for her hunky Mexican Jewish toy-boy doctor, Julian Goldstein (Gael García Bernal), and make peace with her warring parents (Kathy Bates, Treat Williams) and her pals.
She also gets to meet her own fantasy God – the real Whoopi Goldberg – who grants her three wishes, which all come true!
The actors are a pleasant bunch and 100 per cent professional. But Gren Wells’s silly script is A Little Bit of Hell. Just when it gets really depressing, along comes an awful song to depress us even further.
Also in the cast are Lucy Punch, Rosemarie DeWitt, Romany Malco, Steven Weber, Peter Dinklage, Alan Dale and Jason Davis.
