All the Real Girls *** (2003, Paul Schneider, Zooey Deschanel) – Classic Movie Review 1551

Paul Schneider stars as promiscuous Paul, a famed womaniser who falls for his best friend Tip’s virginal younger sister, Noel (Zooey Deschanel). He’s had sex with virtually every girl in his small Southern American town. And now he has to persuade everybody that it’s true love with Noel and not just naked lust in writer-director David Gordon Green’s intelligent, very nicely acted 2003 romantic drama.

It’s a credit to writer-director Green that when his movie starts to get wobbly, Schneider and Deschanel are appealing and excellent, keeping the fun going.

Shea Whigham (as Tip), Danny McBride (as Bust-Ass), Patricia Clarkson (as Elvira), Maurice Compte, Heather McComb, Benjamin Mouton (as Uncle Leland), John Kirkland and James Marshall Case co-star.

David Gordon Green (born on April 9 1975 in Little Rock, Arkansas) is also the director of George Washington (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Joe (2013).
