Ryan Phillippe and Claire Forlani star as a pair of computer wiz-kids who become embroiled in the murky world of ruthless business practices.
Director Peter Howitt’s 2001 movie is a feisty but highly improbable thriller, written by Howard Franklin, with Phillippe charming and engaging as a computer-programmer boy-scout hero, Forlani attractive and appealing as the heroine, and Tim Robbins slumming in a slack throwaway performance as the villain, the nasty and corrupt computer software company boss, who recruits him into his sinister corporation.
Phillippe plays computer programming genius Milo Hoffman, who graduates from Stanford and is contacted by CEO Gary Winston (Robbins) with a dream job offer at his hot Portland-based firm, and Forlani plays Milo’s girlfriend Alice.
Also in the cast are Rachel Leigh Cook as Lisa Calighan, Douglas McFerran, Richard Roundtree, Tygh Runyan, Yee Jee Tso, Nate Dushku, Ned Bellamy, Tyler Labine, Scott Bellis and David Lovgren.
