Martin Lawrence plays an employee at a run-down medieval theme park, who falls, knocks himself out and wakes up in 14th-century England.
The star is on fairly zesty form as Jamal Walker / Skywalker in director Gil Junger’s sporadically funny 2001 time-travel fantasy adventure comedy. The problem is the shortage of gags and story in the script by Darryl Quarles, Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow.
Also in the cast are Marsha Thomason as Victoria the Chambermaid / Nicole, Tom Wilkinson as Sir Knolte of Marlborough, Vincent Regan as Leo’s chief henchman Percival, Daryl Mitchell as Steve, Michael Countryman as Leo’s chamberlain Phillip, Kevin Conway as King Leo, Erik Jensen as Derek, Helen Carey as The Queen and Greg Cooper.
Members of the Society for Creative Anachronism provided historical consulting work and played as extras.
