Writer-director David Kane’s 2000 British romantic comedy boasts a particularly good cast in Craig Ferguson, Jane Horrocks, Adrian Lester, Ian Hart, Catherine McCormack, Jimi Mistry, David Morrissey, Olivia Williams, and Kenneth Cranham. And it has jolly music by Simon Boswell to spark it up as it follows a trio of would-be couples through chance meetings in museums, mini-cabs and at a salsa dance club.
Ferguson is amusing, though Lester as the canny mini-cabbie is the most appealing of the actors. But, mildly entertaining and decently acted though it is, this is just another Brit film all dressed up with nowhere much to go.
Also in the cast are John Thomson, Paddy Considine, Hermione Norris, Sally Phillips, Jessica Stevenson. Martin Savage and Louise Dealamere.
