Christopher Walken enlivens director Alexandre Arcady’s basic, gory 18 certificate 1992 French Mafia action thriller Day of Atonement [Le Grand Pardon II] as Pasco Meisner. Arcady’s sequel to his 1982 Le Grand Pardon is set in Miami, 10 years later.
Roger Hanin also stars as Raymond Bettoun, who flies to Miami to be with his financier son Roland (Gérard Darmon), whom he discovers is laundering money for drug barons – a crime in the eyes of this traditional Mob family.
Caught between the drug enforcement agent trying to control the battle between drug lords, his son’s greed and his own violent past, Raymond Bettoun steps out of retirement to deliver his own justice.
Also in the cast are Richard Berry as Maurice Bettoun, Jill Clayburgh, Jennifer Beals, Jean-François Stévenin, Raúl Dávila, Alexandre Aja, Jean-Claude de Goros, Robert Escobar, Christian Fellat and Jim Moody.
