Director Craig R Baxley’s 1994 film Deep Red is an involving, exciting and well-handled Sci-Fi horror thriller, with plenty of ideas rattling around and strong performances to motor it. The writer and producer is D Brent Mote.
Michael Biehn stars as private detective Joe Keyes who is hired to protect a little girl (Lindsey Haun) whose blood has been contaminated by an alien organism called Reds, capable of repairing and reshaping the human body cell by cell.
Joe is pursued by the indestructible scientist Thomas Dr Newmeyer (John de Lancie), who craves immortality and wants the one Red capable of reproduction.
Also in the cast are Joanna Pacula, John de Lancie, Steven Williams, Lisa Collins, Tobin Bell, Lindsey Haun, John Kapelos, Chayse Dacoda, Michael Des Barres, Kevin Page, Daniel W Barringer and John Alden.
