Easy A *** (2010, Emma Stone, Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Thomas Haden Church, Amanda Bynes, Dan Byrd) – Classic Movie Review 3831

Likeable Emma Stone scores an easy A in director Will Gluck’s funny, enjoyable 2010 teen comedy as a nice high-school student who becomes notorious after fibbing about losing her virginity. She thinks she’s like Hester Prynne in The Scarlet Letter that she is studying and then decides to use gossip to advance her position.

Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci are hilarious as her parents and Thomas Haden Church is good and creepy as the girl’s hip teacher.

Also in the cast are Amanda Bynes, Dan Byrd, Cam Gigandet, Malcolm McDowell, Aly Michalka, Penn Badgley and Fred Armisen.

It is well written by Bert V Royal.
