Director André R Guttfreund’s weird 1991 drama stars Colin Firth as worried artist / nature park ranger Joseph Prince, whose beautiful bride Cynthia (played by Lisa Zane) disappears on the honeymoon. So he sets out for the big city to probe her past to try to find her. What he finds is she has a secret life, possibly secret lives.
Written by Michael Ferris and John D Brancato, this is a largely aimless psychodrama, with mostly uncharismatic performances and an unsatisfying conclusion.
It also co-stars Billy Zane, who is Liza’s real-life brother, as Elijah, Scott Wilson as Dr Beaumont, Lisa Blount, Suzanne Snyder, Danny Trejo, John Lavachielli, Pat Skipper, Catherine E Coulson and Carmine Carridi.
It is shot by Joey Forsyte, produced by Andrew Lane and Nancy Rae Stone, scored by Parmer Fuller, and designed by Pam Warner.
