Oz Arshad’s low-budget (£325,000) British Muslim dating romcom is warm and good hearted, and slickly made.
Danny Ashok stars as Shahid, a stand-up comedian who struggles to find love in the Asian community because of the stigma of his divorce some years earlier, but eventually finds Fatimah (Asmara Gabrielle), a mischievous-minded doctor.
The two sweet lead performances and the Manchester setting go a long way to helping to make up for some easy TV sitcom-style laughs, with some slack comedy writing and some lazy support acting.
