Director Monte Hellman and writer/ star Jack Nicholson shot the 1964 black and white adventure movie Flight to Fury on location in the Philippines together with their Back Door to Hell.
In the story by Monte Hellman and producer Fred Roos, a mixed gang of adventurers, a group of strangers, looks for a stashed fortune in stolen diamonds in the Philippine jungles.
This uninspired but acceptable B-movie adventure is modestly written by and starring a young Jack Nicholson, and competently directed on a low budget by his buddy, Monte Hellman. It is of course essential cult viewing.
Also in the cast are Dewey Martin, Fay Spain, Vic Diaz, Joseph Estrada, John Hackett, Jacqueline Hellman, Lucien Pan, Juliet Prado and Jennings Sturgeon.
Flight to Fury is directed by Monte Hellman, runs 62 minutes (original release) or (re-edited re-release) or 80 minutes, is made by Filipinas Productions and Lippert Pictures, released by Lippert, written by Jack Nicholson, shot in black and white by Mike Accion, produced by Fred Roos and Eddie Romero, and scored by Nestor Robles.
