Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood * (1988, Lar Park-Lincoln, Terry Kiser, Jennifer Banko, John Otrin, Kane Hodder) – Classic Movie Review 8263

Director John Carl Buechler’s 1988 horror sequel Friday the 13th, Part VII: The New Blood stars Lar Park-Lincoln as Tina Shepard, a teenage girl with telekinetic sight, who accidentally releases slasher Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) from his underwater prison and then provides the opposition for him, in a story that mixes Carrie with Halloween.

There are lots of scarily staged gruesome killings for the diehard horror fans, but The New Blood is as quickly dead as one of Jason’s victims. However, it is lustily directed by special effects makeup artist John Carl Buechler.

Also in the cast are Terry Kiser as Dr Crews, Jennifer Banko as Young Tina Shepard, John Otrin as Mr John Shepard, Susan Blu as Mrs Amanda Shepard, Kevin Blair [Kevin Spirtas] as Nick, Elizabeth Kaitan, Susan Jennifer Sullivan, Heidi Kozak, Larry Cox, Craig Bennett and Jeff Thomas.
