Honey *** (2003, Jessica Alba, David Moscow, Mekhi Phifer) – Classic Movie Review 5651

Jessica Alba fresh from the 2000-2002 TV series Dark Angel is a peach as Honey Daniels, a sexy and feisty young dance instructor who starts a hip-hop class for ghetto kids.

She is star spotted by a sleazy music video producer, Michael Ellis (David Moscow), but loses her new career as dancer and music video choreographer because she is in love with hunky barber Chaz (Mekhi Phifer).

Despite using every cliché in the book, director Bille Woodruff’s 2003 Honey is sweet, with cool performances, hot dancing and feel-good music.

The writers are Alonzo Brown and Kim Watson.
