‘There are two ways to claim a fortune – KILL FOR IT! DIE WITH IT!’
Director Richard Benedict’s thin and muddled 1969 film Impasse stars Burt Reynolds as Pat Morrison, who seeks out the $3 million cache of gold that he and his buddies buried in the Philippines in World War Two, while romancing Bobby Jones (Anne Francis), the daughter of one of the men.
Impasse is a below average Sixties action adventure movie, made in the Philippines before Reynolds was a big star and hit his full stride, in which he does his own stunts.
The writer is John C Higgins.
Also in the cast are Vic Diaz, Jeff Corey, Lyle Bettger, Rodolfo Acosta, Miko Mayama, Joanne Hahn [Joanne Dalsass], and Clarke Gordon.
It is an independent film, made by Aubrey Schenck Productions and distributed by United Artists (1969) (US).
The working title was Golden Bullet.
