Friends star David Schwimmer goes through his usual Ross Gellar turn in director Doug Ellis’s pleasant, though rather iffily scripted (by James Frey) and predictable 1998 romantic comedy. Schwimmer stars as a young sports broadcaster called Max Abbitt, who is unsure if his fiancée Samantha ‘Sam’ Andrews (Mili Avital) really loves him so he cajoles his friend Jay Murphy (Jason Lee) to put her fidelity to the test.
Despite the likeable Schwimmer’s and Lee’s talented frantic comedy efforts, it is mostly a yawn and even a shade creepy.
Also in the cast are Bonnie Hunt, Vanessa Angel, Kari Wuhrer, Judy Greer, Frank Medrano and Bitty Schram.
Schwimmer also produces.
