Alain Delon plays a peace-loving animator film-maker killed in an accident and involved in a supernatural game with Death (Daniel Emilfork), in director René Manzor’s bizarre 1986 French fantasy film Le Passage [The Passage]. The Grim Reaper, La Mort, wants to make a bargain with him…
The star, playing his character Jean Diaz as a modern-day Faust, is somewhat out of his depth with the pretentious metaphysics in the strange screenplay by Delon and Manzor.
Also in the cast are Christine Boisson as Catherine Diaz, Jean-Luc Moreau, Alain Lalanne [Alain Musy], Salvatore Nicosia, Jean Levasseur, and Alberto Lomeo.
Co-writer/ co-producer/ star Delon makes it for his own company Adel Productions.
Le Passage [The Passage] is directed by René Manzor, runs 100 minutes, is made by Adel Productions, is released by Union Générale Cinématographique (UGC) (1986) (France), is written by Alain Delon and René Manzor, is shot in 35 mm and colour by André Diot, is produced by Alain Delon, Francis Lalanne and Daniel Champagnon, is scored by Jean-Félix Lalanne, and is designed by Emmanuel de Chauvigny.
