Made Men *** (1999, James Belushi, Timothy Dalton, Michael Beach, Steve Railsback) – Classic Movie Review 5912

James Belushi stars as as Bill ‘The Mouth’ Manucci who steals $12 million from the Mob, and finds himself on the run from various low-lives and an unscrupulous cop, Sheriff Dex Drier (Timothy Dalton).

Director Louis Morneau’s little-seen 1999 gangster action thriller is above par for the course, and it is very well written by Robert Franke, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

An ideally cast Belushi adds zest as Bill ‘The Mouth’ Manucci and Dalton is worth a look in his unusual casting as Sheriff Dex Drier, while Michael Beach and Steve Railsback help out as Miles and Kyle.

Also in the cast are Carleton Wilborn, Vanessa Angel, Jamie Harris, David O’Donnell, Tim Kelleher, Skip Carlson, Susan Isaacs, Oscar Rowland, Chad Lillywhite, Cissy Wellman, Don Shanks and Conrad Goode.

It is shot by George Mooradian, produced by Joel Silver and Richard Donner, scored by Stewart Copeland and designed by Philip J C Duffin.
