It is written by Dale Eunson and Katherine Albert, based on a
Malvin Wald and Collier Young.Joan Evans stars as neglected teenager Jill Bradley, who has become suicidal over recent events – trouble with her aloof parents (Melvyn Douglas as Frank Bradley, Lynn Bari as Alice Bradley) and trouble with her boyfriend Larry Lindsay (Robert Arthur).
This short B-movie is a quick, interesting easy watch at 78 minutes.
The film was released on 28 September 1951 by RKO Pictures.
Also in the cast are Hugh O’Brian as Dr Phillips, Constance Hilton as Susan Tanner, Mickey Kuhn as Bob Vance, Susan Morrow as Catherine, and Lillian Hamilton as Miss Druten.
Most of the action is filmed on interior sets, but one scene takes place outside a high school, supposedly Central High School, but actually the Beverly Hills High School at 241 Moreno Drive.
Producer Collier Young’s wife Ida Lupino’s provides the voice of the narrator.
US alternative title: The Restless Age.
Distinguished screenwriter Lederer directed only three films: Fingers at the Window (1942), On the Loose (1951) and Never Steal Anything Small (1959).
