Director Jeffrey Reiner’s 1995 American horror film Serpent’s Lair is a weird, alienating erotic supernatural thriller, about a young man (Jeff Fahey) called Tom Bennett, who moves into a new apartment with his wife Alex (Heather Medway) and is soon seduced by a woman (Lisa B/ Lisa Barbuscia) who claims she is Lilith Cameron, the sister of the deceased previous occupant.
The woman turns out to be an evil ancient demonic succubus, an insatiable lover intent on destroying his marriage, preying on his energy, and slowly killing him through sex.
It stars Jeff Fahey as Tom Bennett, Lisa B/ Lisa Barbuscia as Lilith Cameron, Heather Medway as Alex Bennett, Patrick Bauchau as Samuel Goddard, and Anthony Palermo as Mario.
Also in the cast are Jack Kehler, Kathleen Noone as Betty, Taylor Nichols as Paul Douglas, and Stuart Blatt.
It was shot for $4,000,000 in Bucharest, Romania, from 22 May 1995 to 17 June 1995, and premiered on 19 October 1995 in the Hamptons Film Festival, East Hampton, New York, a celebration of independent film.
