Director Boris Sagal’s 1976 American mystery TV movie Sherlock Holmes in New York finds Roger Moore relishing his chance to play Sherlock Holmes, who faces his arch-enemy Professor James Moriarty (John Huston) on the streets of New York after the evil professor kidnaps Holmes’s true-love Irene Adler (Charlotte Rampling) and plans to filch the world’s gold.

Also in the cast are Signe Hasso, Leon Ames, John Abbott, Jackie Coogan, Maria Grimm, William ‘Billy’ Benedict and Marjorie Bennett as Mrs Martha Hudson, and Charles Durning as Inspector (uncredited).
