Director Ray Taylor’s 1949 American Western film Son of Billy the Kid stars Lash LaRue as Jack Garrett, Al St John as Fuzzy, and June Carr as Betty Raines. The film is produced by Ron Ormond and co-written by him and his wife June Carr, who plays the female lead role.

The film imagines Billy the Kid was not killed and successfully adopted another identity. Jack Garrett meets Fuzzy (Al St John) and banker Jim Thorn (George Baxter) and they team up to prevent bank robberies by the gang of Clem Yantis (Bob Duncan).

A 65-minute filler, it is made by Western Adventures Productions and released by Screen Guild Productions.

Lash LaRue sounds exciting, but the real name of the popular 1940s and 1950s Western star was Alfred LaRue (June 15, 1917 – May 21, 1996).
