Director Sam Newfield’s suspenseful and entertaining 1943 low-budget film noir mystery thriller is about group of strangers who seek shelter in an old, dark hotel, where there are two murders, the gangster Bardoni (Noel Madison) and $50,000 in stolen money, embezzled by meek bank teller (Byron Foulger).
George Zucco relishes his star role as the mysterious Amos Bradford aka The Raven.
Fred Myton writes an enjoyable original screenplay, ringing some changes and sounding some new notes on the old tunes.
Also in the cast are Wanda McKay, Noel Madison, Glenn Strange, Byron Foulger, Charles Middleton, Bob Randall, and Robert Middlemass.
It is a Sigmund Neufeld Productions black and bhite film, released by PRC, but that doesn’t get in the way of the fast-paced fun, all over in just 61 minutes.
