Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson star as Tom Lincoln and Sarah Jordan, who flee from a sinister futuristic underground facility after they find out that they are clones of ailing millionaires who need spare parts to prolong their lives.
Director Michael Bay’s neat little 2005 sci-fi movie tale then becomes a gargantuan, all-stops-out chase as the baddies hunt down our heroes with all the skill, hardware and trick work that a $120 million budget can afford.
Ewan and Scarlett are a highly skilled, appealing double act, the film looks great and the thrills and spills are mind blowing. It is just a pity that the script gets bloated and routine and the sci-fi yarn gets lost amid all the brilliant, crazy action.
The story and screenplay are by Caspian Tredwell-Owen, with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci also screenplay writers.
The film comes complete with Djimon Hounsou as Albert Laurent, Sean Bean as Dr Bernard Merrick, Steve Buscemi as James McCord and Michael Clarke Duncan as Jamal Starkweather.
