Seeking new work, Boris Karloff tries his luck in Italy, and plays Don Gaetano in writer-director Roberto Montero’s scrappy and pretty awful 1954 Italian crime thriller.
In the unsurprising original story by Carlo Lombardo, an Italian government agent is sent to bust a drug smuggling gang on Ischia Island, off Naples, Campania, Italy. But the gang kidnaps his daughter.
Also in the cast are Franca Marzi as Gloria D’Auro, Renato Vicario as Lieutenant Mario Andreani, Patrizia Remiddi as Fiorella Andreani, Jole Fierro as Giulia, Germana Paolieri as Adalgisa, and Giuseppe Addobbati as the Sirena director.
It was filmed at the Incir De Paolis Studios, Rome, and on location on Ischia Island.
