Indian boy Mowgli (voice of Haley Joel Osment), raised with the wolves, is torn between his jungle pals and life with his new friend Shanti (voice of Mae Whitman).
Director Steve Trenbirth’s 2003 animated feature for the Walt Disney Studio is a fairly enjoyable, quite amusing, belated follow-up to its beloved 1967 cartoon. Evil tiger Shere Khan (voice of Tony Jay) is looking for payback after Mowgli’s last adventure.
However, with fairly dull songs, rather feeble jokes and flat-looking animation, it is a bit of a disappointing let-down, really mainly showing what a magical movie the original was.
Phil Collins provides the voice of Lucky the Vulture and John Goodman that of Baloo the Bear. Other voices are provided by Connor Funk (Ranjan), Bob Joles (Bagheera), John Rhys-Davies and Jim Cummings.
