James Mason is your guide and narrator as he walks through the streets of Swinging Sixties London pointing out fascinating sights and objects from bygone days.
The London Nobody Knows (1969) is a quirky, surprisingly engaging, gloriously nostalgic documentary film featuring unusual locations, Mason’s deliciously sonorous tones, and an intriguing, quirky lesson about the capital city’s history. It is a lot more entertaining and revealing than perhaps it would seem.
The London Nobody Knows is written by Geoffrey S Fletcher, shot by Terry Maher, produced by Norman Cohen and Michael Klinger, and directed by Norman Cohen.
It was Cohen’s first film production. He also directed Till Death Us Do Part (1969) and Dad’s Army (1971), Confessions of a Pop Performer (1975), Confessions of a Driving Instructor (1976), Confessions from a Holiday Camp (1977), Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall (1973), and Stand Up, Virgin Soldiers (1977).
