Writer-director Skip Woods’s 1998 action comedy crime film Thursday is a nasty, dark but exciting Tarantino-style crime thriller.

Thomas Jane stars as Casey Wells, a reformed LA drug dealer, who has started a new life as a Texas architect in Houston, married to Christine (Paula Marshall), but is now in deep trouble when an old drug dealer buddy, Nick (Aaron Eckhart), turns up one Thursday looking for a place to stay.

It turns out that he is carrying a case of heroin, so soon others are turning up on the doorstep. Dallas (Paulina Porizkova) and Billy Hill (James Le Gros) are Nick’s partners in crime.

This well made, well cast, well acted but extremely tough-toned movie is laced with a cruel streak of black comedy.

Also in the cast are Paula Marshall, Paulina Porizkova, Mickey Rourke, James Le Gros, Michael Jeter and Glenn Plummer.

It runs 83 minutes (theatrical) or 87 minutes (director’s cut).

Skip Woods is best known for writing the screenplays for Swordfish, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise, A Good Day to Die Hard.
