Director Brian Crumlish’s 1991 British Film Four film is a touching tale of two troubled youngsters – teenagers George (Tom Smith) and Carol (Alice Bree) – who enter the big wide world full of hope and idealism after a decade in a children’s home.
It is an authentic-seeming drama about the plight of homeless teenagers, with lively performances from the young Scottish actors, sparky dialogue and a vitality springing from the location filming in Edinburgh, seen with a documentary-maker’s eye.
It was first shown at the 1991 Edinburgh and London Film Festivals.
Also in the cast are Mickey MacPherson, Fiona Chalmers, Ashley Jensen.
It is written by Christeen Winford.
