Director Robert Stevenson’s outstanding 1948 Columbia Pictures American black and white film noir crime adventure To the Ends of the Earth stars Dick Powell as a US Treasury Federal Bureau of Narcotics agent, Commissioner Michael Barrows, who travels the globe to stop a gang of international drug smugglers. Barrows determines to smash the narcotics ring, travelling to the ends of the Earth if he needs to.

The exciting, complex plot, the brisk acting and the efficient direction make it a model of its kind, and Powell is a charismatic T-man hero.

Treasury commissioner Harry J Ansliger plays himself, the boss of Narcotics Agent Michael Barrows in the movie.
